VDR Functions
Virtual Data Rooms are employed by law firms, CPAs and accounting firms to collect, organize and manage client paperwork for tax preparation and audit. Mortgage brokers and banks utilize vdrs to collect documents, organize and share them with clients and other parties. VDRs are excellent for investment banking processes, such as IPOs capital-raising, IPOs and M&A.
In addition, to the ligand-binding domain, activation function 2 (AF-2) and the dimerization interface as well as the dimerization interface, the VDR is subjected to numerous post-translational changes that affect its function. One of these modifications, the phosphorylation of position 51 in serine, has been proven to be important in 1,25(OH2D)-dependent transcriptional activity. In the laboratory, mutation of this serine amino acid into Glycine decreased 1,25(OH2)2D-induced transcriptional activation. This mutation did not alter PKC B-catalyzed Phosphorylation in HL-60 Cells, and did not significantly change the AF-2 or Dimerization process when 1,25(OH2)2D or Cytosolic Calcium was present.
Unliganded vdr was shown to interact with and enhance the induction of cWnt genes as well as the sonic hedgehog in keratinocytes. The loss of VDR in animals causes hair follicle disorders, including the alopecia. A number of studies have attempted link specific RFLPs or nucleotide variants within or close to the VDR gene with clinical phenotypes; however most of these attempts have yielded only modest insight into the relationship between gene expression and clinical disease phenotypes.
